Efficient Material Management for Work Execution Teams in the Energy Industry.

Knowledge, Experience and Innovation.

At the Productivity Lab, we apply our 25+ years of experience to solving end-to-end Material Management challenges for work execution teams in the energy industry.

Our typical clients are work execution functions requiring improvements in service levels from their organization’s material management ecosystem or supply chain management functions looking to trade off costs and service levels.

Designing and maintaining efficient end-to-end material supply chains is challenging due to changing geopolitical and other external factors, and the number of internal and external shareholders involved.

Additionally, today’s organizations are subject to historically high levels of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA), requiring well planned and coordinated changes to processes, systems, organizations, people and technology. These changes must be based on complex trade-offs between cost and required service levels, and must be grounded in a detailed understanding of the environment in which the material supply chain operates, and the risks to which it is exposed.

At the Productivity Lab, we understand that each such environment is different and requires knowledge, experience and innovation to deliver lasting results, not elaborate benchmarking templates, subjective maturity evaluation studies or boilerplate approaches and ‘industry best practices’.

Focus is on maximizing your organization’s material management performance, and enabling your teams to do things they were never able to do before!

“Supply chain upheavals show little sign of abating. Companies can address them by reconsidering outdated, short-term strategies and beginning the hard work of building structural resilience”

- McKinsey

“Productivity is being able to do things that you were never able to do before”

Service Offerings

How efficient are your Material Management practices, and where are the major inefficiencies occurring?

At the Productivity Lab, we conduct tailored Health Checks, using a range of tools, methodologies and studies designed to uncover vulnerabilities, uncertainties, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA) in your organization’s material supply chains. Based on the Health Check results, we’ll let you know the biggest risks and improvement opportunities.

Planning and implementation governance are both key success factors for any Supply Chain improvement program, including Material Management.

At the Productivity Lab, we design and provide the detailed planning for a balanced Material Management improvement program and set up and onboard your organization’s Program Management Office (PMO), ensuring your organization’s improvement program is set up for success.

30 – 40% of change efforts are considered fully successful, with 10% considered complete failures. The rest fall into a “partially met expectations” category.

At the Productivity Lab, we provide different models of program execution support, tailored to your organization’s needs. Depending on factors such as national and corporate culture, region(s) and urgency, be it in an Agile, Waterfall, Lean or a hybrid environment, we ensure that your program becomes part of the 30 - 40% that are fully successful.
