About Us

At the Productivity Lab, we believe in a balanced approach to change through working with teams to ensure the correct mix of hard and soft actions, depending on project objectives and timelines.

Theory E change strategies usually involve heavy use of economic incentives, drastic layoffs, downsizing, and restructuring. Shareholder value is the only legitimate measure of corporate success.
Theory O change strategies are geared toward building up the corporate culture: employee behaviors, attitudes, capabilities, and commitment. The organization’s ability to learn from its experiences is a legitimate yardstick of corporate success.

Applying a range of tools, methodologies, techniques and turnkey approaches, we act as expert resources who bridge the gap between strategy and implementation and between the C-suite and regional / asset management and the execution level. We always listen to the voice of the organisation, and we are not afraid to challenge and propose solutions ourselves.

Our balanced approach along with a clear step-by-step framework for anchoring change ensures teams are enabled to do things they were never able to do before, and that the changes are sustainable.

Successful behaviour change programs depend on the quality of execution of three distinct enablers:

  • The Preparation phase comprises the first 3 steps of Kotter’s 8-step model (sense of urgency, guiding coalition and vision), and sets the program up for success.
  • Leadership during and following the change (change leadership and business leadership respectively) enables objectives to be met and sustained.
  • Anchoring the changes through a tried and tested framework.

Excellent preparation and change leadership drives the delivery of the objectives of the change program, while fit-for-purpose anchoring and business leadership ensures sustainability of the changes.

The Anchoring Pyramid™ shows the 5 levels of behaviour change anchoring, of which the behaviour change threshold (the minimum levels required for sustainable change) comprises the bottom three levels.
